What is the Haigh-Stratford Trust?

The trust is the teaching arm of St. Mary’s Choir and is named after two much-loved and distinguished former organists and choirmasters. Percy Haigh held the position from 1920 to 1976 and Michael Stratford from 1977 to 1987. Both of these men contributed much to the musical life of St Mary’s and between them developed a reputation for excellence in the Anglican choral tradition.

The aim of the trust is to attract new young choristers. Funding has been established which covers the finance required to allow these choristers to receive their vocal tuition free of charge.
